Riot Games' latest game VALORANT just launched its closed beta and the game launched with a blast, having millions of players tuning in on Twitch to try and get a beta drop in their inbox. For those of you lucky enough to get into the closed beta, you probably noticed that weapons in VALORANT can be upgraded. An upgraded weapon typically unlocks an additional cosmetic like an upgraded animation, a special kill effect or even upgraded sound effects for that weapon. This article will explain how you can upgrade your weapons in VALORANT.
The first step is to actually acquire a weapon skin. To do so, you need to buy Valorant Points in the in-game store. You can now go into your collections to unlock a new weapon skin and begin upgrading. Keep in mind that not every weapon skin is upgradable! When you inspect a skin in the store or in your collection, you can see additional levels that you can unlock. The example below shows that the skin starts on level 1 but has 3 additional levels to unlock.
So now that you've spent your VP and got your skin, it's time to upgrade. To do this, you're going to need Radianite Points. Similar to VP, you can get Radianite Points in the VALORANT in-game client. You can get Radianite Points by completing challenges from the Battle Pass, or you can just buy Radianite Points by using your Valorant Points, as seen below.
Luckily you don't need too many Radianite Points to upgrade your weapons in VALORANT. 10 points is already enough to fully upgrade a skin to level four, unlocking all of its cosmetic bonuses! So start grinding those Battle Pass challenges or just spend your Valorant points to upgrade those weapons, good luck!
