Information is a crucial part of Valorant and learning how to interpret this information is the easiest way to close out more rounds. This guide will explain how to utilize all of Sova's utility on Haven, so that you can contribute more to your teammates. It is no question that Sova is an S-tier agent. This is because Sova has the highest skill ceiling out of any other Agent in the game. From different lineups of Sova's Recon Bolt to the infamous double Shock Bolt lineups, the possibilities are endless. After reading this guide you will understand how to use your Recon Bolt, pre-aim Shock Bolts, your Hunter's Fury.
Attacking A Site:
First Bloods are so important in Valorant for either team. Stand in the corner beside the double wood box right on top of the flower pot, and look above the tall standing leaf. Utilizing this Long A Recon Bolt will give your team information on any potential enemy posted with an Operator or any enemy that may be hidden by the concrete wall.
Attacking A Site:
When taking a site on attack side, it is very important to make sure you take control of the whole site before planting the spike. In order to use this arrow make sure you are standing in the corner beside the sandbags (NOT ON TOP). This arrow will help your entry frag players clear corners and angles quicker because they have more information. It is important to take the site as fast as possible once contact is made so you can get into your ideal post-plant positions before the rotating defending players arrive.
Attacking B Site:
When taking control of B site it is very important to clear these close corners. This arrow will tell you if there are players hiding close on either side, and if a player has boosted on top of the left box.
Attacking B Site:
This backsite arrow can expose a player hiding behind the metal box, as well as the wooden "Gong" area. If you smoke either side like most people do on a B Site execution, just be aware that the arrow will not expose a player that is hiding inside of the smoke.
Attacking C Site:
When executing C Site use this arrow to clear backsite, logs, and the left side platform to help your team gain control.
Defending A Site:
When you play Sova on CT side it is important to give your team early round information using your Recon Bolt. Remember your Recon Bolt has a 35 second cooldown, so you are able to use it later in the round as well. This arrow will expose enemy players in the A "Lobby" who could be rushing towards the A Site.
Defending A Site:
This is a very simple arrow to scan the outside part of A Lobby. In order to do this arrow, stand at the left side of the metal box on B Site, and aim full power against the right wall of mid with one bounce. This arrow will land above the concrete steps outisde of the A lobby.
Defending Garage:
This is a very simple way to scan the lower area outside of the garage to see if enemies are there. I suggest you do this early round so you can let your team know if the other team is attempting to take early mid control. This also gives you the opportunity to get a frag through the doors or, if you have an LMG, utilize the Recon Bolt's scan to wallbang the player.
Defending Garage:
This Recon Bolt does the same thing as the other, but you do not have to be exposed.
Defending C Site:
This is a really good Recon Bolt for Long C. You would just full charge shoot an arrow down long, but this one allows you to stay safe. I suggest you use this one at the beginning of the round because it hits both long, and the lobby just outside of C Long. This lineup is the hardest on the guide, so I suggest you practice this one in a custom game. Line the part of your HUD that shows the bounce of the bolt just above the 10th cement box from the left as shown in the picture. When you let this arrow go at 1.5 bars, or half power it will land in a tree high enough to scan both areas.
Retaking A Site:
This is the best retake arrow that can be used for A site. You want to stand in the left corner of the doorway when coming from the B Site and aim just slightly higher than the roof. Using this arrow with full power will expose default, close right corners, and other parts of site.
Retaking A Site: Double Shock Darts
Line yourself up with the right side of the A Link doorway when coming from B Site. Use the left wing of your Owl Drone on the bottom left of your screen, and line it up with the upper left lightbulb shown in the picture. The first arrow will be shot at 1/3 power charge. For the subsequent arrow, line up the Owl Drone on the darkened part of the roof and instant shoot it with no power. The first arrow will have more power than the second one because it is designed to give it more time in the air so they willl both land at the same time.
Retaking C Site:
This is the easiest retake arrow for C Site. Place yourself in the C Link corner facing the CT entrance to C Site. This arrow will clear front site, default, backsite greenbox, and logs. Be aware that the cubby part of the backsite platform is hidden from this arrow. This arrow is ideal when you have retake smokes to pair with this arrow and clear all of site to take control.
Retaking C Site: Double Shock Darts
When you hear the bomb being planted on C, stand on the right side of the B Link towards C. You will notice the lines of the roof on the right. You want to place your crosshair on the second one from the top as shown in the picture and shoot this with 1/3 power with no bounce. On your HUD right above your Shock Bolts you will notice the two arrows. Place this part of your HUD right under the roof as shown in the picture. The second shock dart will be an immediate shot, or no power.
Hunter's Fury
The most effective way to use your Hunter's Fury is to stop the Spike plant with it. When on CT, you want to position youself in a safe spot, and when you hear the spike being planted initiate your Hunter's Fury towards default, and the rest of the plantable area. When you get a tag with the Hunter's Fury it will give you and outline of the player for a short time which gives you information on where to aim the next one. Each hit with this Ultimate ability does 80 damage, so two hits is a kill.
Using your Ult off spawn
The best way to get a kill with your ultimate regularly would be if you revealed someone with a Recon Bolt, or tagged someone with your Owl Drone. On Haven there is a trick on CT side to use your Hunter's Fury off spawn and it will hit middle window, and the lower grass area outside of Garage.
These are the most important lineups to know in order to win more rounds. Try not to telegraph your site take by utilizing the same arrow every round. Use different variations of these Recon Bolts throughout the game on both sides for the best results. These are just the basics, so load into a custom and figure out some really advanced arrows to impressive your teamates and confuse your enemies. I wish you the best of luck on your future Valorant endeavors.
