I have a PhD in PvP! - Nazeebo Guide

The "How-to-treat-your-pets-experience" - Heroes of the Storm Edition!

Nazeebo is an Umbaru Witch Doctor and one of the Nephalem the player is able to control in Diablo 3. Witch Doctors are spiritual warriors who can summon different creatures to gain the upper hand in a fight. This gameplay mechanic is transferred to his appearance in the Nexus, granting him great poke potential and a quite unique playstyle.

Voodoo Ritual - Trait. Every Basic Attack and every Ability poisons Non-Heroic enemies, causing them to take 66 (+4% per level) additional damage over 6 seconds. If a Minion dies while poisoned by Voodoo Ritual, Nazeebo permanently gains 4 Health and 1 Mana.    Corpse Spiders - Q. (50 Mana - 9 seconds cooldown) Nazeebo hurls a jar of spiders that deals 50 damage (+4% per level). If this jar hits at least one enemy, it creates 3 Corpse Spiders that attack for 35 damage (+4% per level). These spiders last for 4 seconds.    Zombie Wall - W. (70 Mana - 14 seconds cooldown) Nazeebo creates, after a 1 second delay, a ring of Zombies, surrounding the target area that deal 28 damage (+4% per level) and lasts for 3 seconds.    Plague of Toads - E. (30 Mana - 8 seconds cooldown) Plague of Toads creates a wave of 3 Toads that hop forward a short distance, exploding on contact and dealing 140 damage (+4% per level) over 6 seconds. This effect stacks and there are 2 charges of this Ability available.    Ravenous Spirit - R. (100 Mana - 90 seconds cooldown) Nazeebo's first Heroic Ability channels a Ravenous Spirit that deals 207 damage (+4% per level) per second. Nazeebo cannot move while channeling. The Spirit itself lasts for 8 seconds and can be moved around the battlefield.    Gargantuan - R. (90 Mana - 70 seconds cooldown) Nazeebo's second Heroic Ability summons a Gargantuan that guards an area for 20 seconds. The Gargantuan deals 100 damage (+4% per level) when summoned, attacks for 150 damage (+4% per level) and can be ordered to stomp on the ground by pressing R again, dealing damage in a bigger area.

Nazeebo's Basic Abilities

- Spider Build -

Nazeebo's Spider Build is his Standard Build, getting his name by focusing on his Q. It improves his poke, sustain and damage in teamfights.

Widowmakers - Q. [(Quest) Reward: After Corpse Spiders attack Heroes 100 times, their attack damage is increased by 30%.]
Widowmakers is a great tool to empower Nazeebo's Q and synergizes pretty well with the later talents. It's a little powerspike in the early game, once completed and can help to take down isolated enemies.    Hexed Crawlers - Q. [Corpse Spiders restore 0.75% of Nazeebo's maximum Health and Mana when they attack an enemy Hero.]
Level 4 is a small sustain tier for Nazeebo, focusing on Health & Mana Regeneration (or an overall increase in the case of Big Voodoo). Hexed Crawlers is helpful to stay in lane a bit longer or at an objective, empowering your poke potential while granting a decent amount of sustain.    Spirit of Arachyr - Q. [If Corpse Spiders hits only one enemy, it creates 2 additional spiders.]
With Spirit of Arachyr, you can improve your prior advantages by applying more damage on a single target and also getting a bit more Health and Mana back. Of course that doesn't mean you should always wait until you will hit only one target to trigger this effect, but it can be quite devastating to a squishy backliner or an enemy healer who positions himself away from their teammates.    Gargantuan - R. With a lower cooldown and mana cost than Ravenous Spirit, it is great zoning tool and has good combo potential with your Zombie Walls. You are also able to smash with your Gargantuan even when you've been already taken out in a teamfight as long as it still stands. Ravenous Spirit has more downsides than Gargantuan as you are locked to a certain spot, making it easier for your opponents to eliminate you and you won't be able to use your other abilities while so.    Ice Block - Additional talent. [Activate to place yourself in Stasis and gain Invulnerability for 3 seconds.] Nazeebo is one of the few Heroes that are able to get an Ice Block and it should definitely be picked up. It can work as a Self-Cleanse or save you from high burst damage abilities like Pyroblast. The Health and Mana that your spiders restore will still be gained even while Ice Block is active, which can give you the slight advantage in a 1v1. Superstition can be an option, but it's very situational and is not recommended as a standard talent.    Spider Colony - Q. [Corpse Spiders' cooldown recharges 100% faster while above 850 (+4% per level) Health.] More spiders equals more value. Spider Colony is a really nice talent when combined with the ones we already took, allowing you to spam your spiders if you position yourself well.    Vile Infection - Trait. [(Quest) Reach 175 stacks of Voodoo Ritual. Reward: After reaching 175 stacks of Voodoo Ritual, it can also be applied to Heroes and its damage is increased by 200%.] Vile Infection is THE talent to pick at level 20 and a huge powerspike, as it is mostly the reason for Nazeebo's great late game damage output. By the time level 20 hits, you should already have your Voodoo Ritual stacks ready or be really close to finishing the quest.

- Toad Build -

The Toad Build has always been a great tool when facing heavy dive or mobile team compositions that would be really hard to hit with your jar of spiders and thereby would deny you a lot of damage and value in fights. Due to recent buffs on certain talents, it became even stronger and can be seen more often. The idea behind this build is that enemies like Greymane or Illidan have to face massive poison damage as they dive in and are much easier to take down, as they will not be able to dodge every single toad.

Pandemic - E. [(Quest) Reward: After hitting 40 Heroes with Plague of Toads, it spawns 2 additional toads.] The Toad-Quest at Level 1 is not as easy to finish as the Spider-Quest is, but the 2 additional toads per charge are really impactful due to the toads' improvement at later levels.        Big Voodoo - Trait. [Increase the Health and Mana bonuses from Voodoo Ritual by 100%.] Big Voodoo is a great talent to make Nazeebo more tanky and synergizes pretty well with Soul Harvest at level 16. However, if you feel you might need an extra bit of healing during the laning phase, you might also go for Blood RitualHexed Crawlers can be an option as well, but won't be as strong as in the Spider-Build as you won't get 2 additional spiders at level 7 to improve it even more. Additionally you have to keep in mind that Big Voodoo might not be the best choice against enemy Heroes which deal damage based on percent Health.        Toads of Hugeness - E. [Increase the damage and explosion radius of Plague of Toads by 25% after each hop, up to a maximum of 100%.] Toads of Hugeness empowers your toad game a lot and is one of the most important talents in this build. Combined with the additional toads from level 1, this build starts to roll quite heavily.        Gargantuan - R. Your Ultimate won't change in this build. There are still the same pros and cons as mentioned above.        Ice Block - Additional talent. [Activate to place yourself in Stasis and gain Invulnerability for 3 seconds.] Same goes for the already mentioned Ice Block. Guardian Toads doesn't really improve with the talent choices of the Toad Build as it won't give you more than 25% Armor and can't stack.        Soul Harvest - Additional talent. [Activate to increase Nazeebo's Health and Spell Power by 7% for each nearby enemy, up to a maximum of 35%. Lasts 15 seconds.] Soul Harvest is a great tool to empower the damage of your toads even more. As it works with every enemy (including minions) it is pretty easy to get value out of it and keep it active. Together with Big Voodoo, Nazeebo can get a really large Health pool and become quite tanky.        Vile Infection - Trait. [(Quest) Reach 175 stacks for Voodoo Ritual. Reward: After reaching 175 stacks of Voodoo Ritual, it can also be applied to Heroes and its damage is increased by 200%.] The choice of your level 20 talent is also not determined by your choice of choosing a Spider or Toad Build. Vile Infection is still the late game king.

The Toad Build can apply a lot of Poison Damage to close targets

Zombie Wall can be canceled! I can't address this enough as there are still lots of people that don't know you can cancel certain abilities (like Tassadar's Force Wall or Zeratul's Void Prison) while they are still active. A lot of times, a teammate can find himself trapped in a Zombie Wall and is not able to get out of there only to get blown up by his opponents, only because the Nazeebo player didn't cancel his Wall to allow his teammate to escape.

You can also self-cast Zombie Wall (Alt+W) while running away. The Wall itself will be created after the short delay, blocking or even surrounding enemies that are chasing you and allowing you to mount up or run to safety.

If your team has another great solo laner, you should let him take care of the solo lane, so you can rotate with your team and simply gain your Vile Infection stacks for the late game, especially on smaller maps. Nazeebo is a late game powerhouse, but the steps towards it can be rough if you're lacking stacks when level 20 hits.

Nazeebo is not a very mobile Hero and can protect himself only with his Ice Block and his Zombie Walls so make sure to position yourself not too aggressively in a teamfight.
