Introducing The 2017 Team Dignitas Overwatch Team

Want to know more about our new 2017 roster? Come learn some more about the new Overwatch lineup!

While our new players have been proving themselves on the battlefield, we've yet to properly introduce our new Team Dignitas Overwatch players to the fans! In this article we want to talk about their gaming history, and most importantly, their Overwatch career. Firstly, let's look at the three players who remained part of the team.

Achievements

  • Top 4: Overwatch XTRA Cup Online Qualifiers
  • Top 6: Overwatch World Cup: European Qualifier
  • 1st Place: Overwatch Arena Season 1
  • Top 8: 2016 ESL Atlantic Showdown - Gamescom

It's time to introduce the first DPS player of our roster. Coming from Spain, Jose Antonio "BromaS" Ramos Gonzales! BromaS has been able to shine multiple times, and has been playing a lot of competitive Overwatch in his time. He came first place in tournaments such as the Acer Pro Challenge, and even worked together with his teammates to help Spain qualify for the Overwatch World Cup at Blizzcon 2016! He's a star player with a great attitude towards the game.

Thanks to the Overwatch World Cup, BromaS was able to work together with Blizzard a while back to provide an Agents Recall mini-documentary about himself. We've been able to find out that he's loved games ever since he was a little kid and is extremely proud of being able to play them for a living professionally. There's so much more information and other cool things about our boy BromaS, and we won't spoil it! Check it out in the video below!

Next up, it's time to introduce our other star player of the team. Coming from Finland and being a huge name in the Finnish scene, we also have Jiri "LiNkzr" Masalin taking up our DPS role! LiNkzr is the second of the three original Creation eSports players you may remember. Now let's get onto some more important details about LiNkzr shall we?

Achievements

  • 2nd Place: Overwatch World Cup: European Qualifier
  • 1st Place: Game On Overwatch Cup
  • Top 4: Overwatch XTRA Cup Online Qualifiers
  • Top 8: 2016 ESL Atlantic Showdown - Gamescom

One of our biggest, possibly best known, personalities, LiNkzr brings solid and consistent damage for our team. And while he may also try to bring out the Doritos, there's sadly nothing we can do about that. As long as we've known him, LiNkzr has been known to post pictures of food all over Twitter, and even his adventures into the world of cooking. Trust us, you can take his advice on how to play Overwatch, but maybe not the cooking section. He's not turned away by the idea of Doritos in a grinder.

If we move away from LiNkzr on social media with his strong meme game, his Overwatch game is (almost) as impressive! Jokes aside, he isn't all just laughs. Jiri provides us with the plays that our Overwatch roster needs, and is one of the longest standing members alongside his teammates! He has some experience across the board with the rest of them, playing at Gamescom and perfecting some Overwatch tournaments and cups. The man has talent. If you're in love with LiNkzr for his skills, or for his meme game, just check out what Jason Kaplan had to say about LiNkzr on our 2017 roster!

Moving onto our third and final player from the original roster, we have someone you should've been able to guess already if you've followed our Overwatch team in the past. I've already given you the time to guess, so finally, let us introduce you to Joshua "ToxikeN" Campos! Another Spanish player alongside our DPS player BromaS, Josh has been a consistent player for Dignitas with plenty of experience. Let's go into some more details then...

Achievements

  • Top 4: Overwatch XTRA Cup Online Qualifiers
  • Top 4: Masters Gaming Arena 2016: European Regional
  • 1st Place: Acer Pro Challenge
  • Top 8: 2016 ESL Atlantic Showdown - Gamescom

Currently playing as our Flex player, ToxikeN is the last (but definitely not least) of the three original Dignitas roster members. Alongside BromaS and LiNkzr, he's been a dependable player for Dignitas and by now knows his teammates better than anyone else. ToxikeN isn't short of some achievements himself either. All the way back with the original roster, he defeated Rogue and competed in major events such as the Atlantic Showdown at Gamescom. He doesn't lack in the experience department, that's for sure!

ToxikeN has also been with us for a while. As mentioned earlier, he joined the original roster mid-way through 2016 and was teammates with LiNkzr and BromaS back on Creation eSports. He's played a bunch of roles, but is now currently playing as one of our Flex/Tank players on this roster. We've already seen some great Zarya and D.Va play during the XTRA cup, and it's going to be exciting seeing what he will bring to the table in the future games with the new roster!

Sticking to the "original Dignitas" theme we've got going on here, we're now going to introduce someone a little bit different. While this player has been with us before, he returns to us slightly altered. Transitioning from playing one game for Dignitas to another, we're here to introduce our fourth player. Keeping the team alive from the back line or maybe toasting them with Symmetra - it's time to introduce Marcel "Veineless" Lehmann!

Achievements

  • 1st Place: The Gauntlet Overwatch Cup
  • 1st Place: #20 GosuGamers Overwatch Weekly
  • 3rd Place: King of the Watch #8 Europe
  • Top 4: GamersOrigin Overwatch Cup

Veineless is our fourth player, coming all the way from Germany. He's not someone you want to mess with. Despite changing over from our Heroes of the Storm team, he's managed to move straight onto our Overwatch team after a year off. Marcel is someone you should fear and he is the example of a dedicated eSports player! Not including his experience in other titles, Veineless has come from other big teams such as FaZe Clan and left an impression while doing so. So much so that we picked him up again.

While he may have experience and time spent with big name teams, he's beaten some names too. With his previous teammates, he's taken down Team LDLC to come in first place at The Gauntlet! He's happy with our roster and has a good impression of our players. It's nice to see confidence and, if Marcel can see us progressing forward as a team, there's no doubt that we will! Veineless isn't the only one joining us of course. We still have a few more players to go. One of these players includes one of Veineless' teammates from the past, and they've stuck with each other for a while now. If you can't guess, it's time to introduce our fifth player...

Achievements

  • Top 12: Overwatch World Cup: European Qualifier
  • 1st Place: The Gauntlet Overwatch Cup
  • 1st Place: ESL Community Cup #5

Yep, Elvinas "evokje" Padegimas! Coming all the way from Lithuania, he was brought onto the team at the same time as Veineless, meaning he knows the guys well and should get on fine with the team! Alongside his currently amazing performance at the XTRA cup with the others, he hasn't just been our Support. In the past, he's competed and won multiple Overwatch GosuGamers Weekly tournaments, and competed in the ONLYWATCH tournament a while back too.

One of his biggest achievements is being able to play for the Baltic and Caspian Sea team in the Overwatch World Cup back at Blizzcon 2016 and he has shown a good performance behind the scenes, keeping our team alive and well with his healing during the XTRA Cup. While he may not be a highlight player, evokje is our support! You may not see those highlights as much as the other DPS/Flex player(s), but he's definitely the one letting them keep up with the pressure! Finally, the last player we have to announce for the new Dignitas roster is Patrick "Wat7" Marwal!

Achievements

  • Top 4: Overwatch XTRA Cup Online Qualifiers
  • 1st Place: Dino PC #1
  • 1st Place: The Gauntlet Overwatch Cup
  • Top 24: Overwatch World Cup: European Qualifier

Wat7 is our second tank player, and final player to be announced for the 2017 Team Dignitas roster! Coming from Austria, he has multiple wins in different tournaments, such as the GosuGamers Weekly, DinoPC Overwatch Tournament, and the Gauntlet Overwatch Cup. And now playing on the current Overwatch roster for us with an unwavering performance and dedication alongside the team, he's winning plenty of games during the XTRA Cup. Wat7 isn't new to the scene and is definitely part of our new roster to help bring out the best of our team, along with everyone else on their current 7-game winning streak!

We now know all these players and can safely say they're some of the stars that Team Dignitas needs to make it to the top of the competitive Overwatch scene, and now you can leave knowing them a lot better than before! How did some of our new players like Wat7 and evokje make names for themselves? Why are ToxikeN, BromaS and LiNkzr being spoken so highly of? Hopefully some of those questions have been cleared up for you! With confidence from the community in our new lineup and the confidence our players have in the roster too, it's going to be a great 2017 for Team Dignitas Overwatch!
