This time on "Highlight of the Match" we look back to a Baron-play that gave us an enormous advantage in Game 1 vs Immortals.
With the regular season ending, Team Dignitas finished in 5th place with a record of 9 wins and 9 loses (along with FlyQuest). With this finish, the Team Dignitas League of Legends squad has qualified for the NA LCS Spring Split Playoffs. However, in order to achieve that, they had to win their last series of the regular season against Immortals who also needed to win this Bo3 in order to advance to Playoffs. The series turned out be satisfying for Team Dignitas, who swept Immortals 2-0.
In this week's "Highlight of the Match" we take a look over a fight near the Baron pit in Game 1, that turned the tides of the game in favor of Team Dignitas.

The clip starts with Immortals setting up a Baron trap. They are grouped up in two near bushes, and divided into two teams. One team consists of champions that can punish someone for facechecking a brush really quickly (Taliyah and Lee Sin), and the other consists of the back-up squad (Maokai, Ezreal and Karma). What they don't know, however, is that the first team is standing on top of an enemy Ward, making this whole attempt visible and very risky for them.
Indeed, a couple of seconds later, Ssumday's Nautilus approaches the bush without the ward just to give false hope to Lee Sin and Taliyah, and as soon as he gets a clear line of sight for his Q, Dredge Line, he immediately engages.
His hook hit Dardoch's Lee Sin, splitting him from his partner, Pobelter's Taliyah. Now, seeing that Taliyah is all alone, LOD attempts an aggressive Flash over the wall just to reach her. He then casts his ultimate, Chain of Corruption, onto her, leaving her unprotected and without back-up into the waiting claws of the bloodthirsty Kha'Zix of Chaser.
Meanwhile in the back of the fight, all of Immortals' members have turned their focus onto Nautilus who, with the back-up of Keane's Cassiopeia and Xpecial's Lulu, has not lost more than 20% of his total HP while tanking all 4 of the remaining enemy members for at least 5 seconds.
Lulu then casts her R, Wild Growth, onto Nautilus to hit a 2 man knock-up, while the whole squad of Team Dignitas groups up and starts chunking down the health bars of their enemies. Nautilus forces Cody Sun's Ezreal to blink away, making him unable to deal damage except for a couple of Qs he threw from behind the wall. Dardoch's Lee Sin dies to Keane, Olleh's Karma manages to escape without losing any HP, thus leaving Flame's Maokai alone against 5 enemy members, popping his Guardian Angel and dying seconds later.
After that fight, Team Dignitas managed to pick up the Baron Buff on all 5 of its members. Although they didn't manage to crack the enemy base open with it, they took down a turret, took the Bot Lane Inhibitor turret down to beyond half HP, and also picked up the Elder Dragon Buff giving them a huge gold advantage for the rest of the game.
Had this ward in the brush not been placed by Ssumday 20 seconds before the fight broke out, nobody knows how that teamfight would have turned out. After winning that game due to the big lead Team Dignitas had from this fight and its consequences, they were able to close out the match and clinch a spot in the Playoffs.
Now in the Playoff quarterfinals, Team Dignitas faces Phoenix1 on April 8th, in a Best of 5 to determine who will face Cloud 9 in the semifinals.
