Map Awareness, probably one of the most important things in League of Legends and also one of the easiest things to improve.
Have you ever died to a roaming enemy and blamed your team for not pinging? If so, then this guide is probably for you. Improving your map awareness will stop this from happening and will also allow you to survive ganks from the jungler more effectively. It's a really easy thing to improve so follow these 5 tips and improve yourself as a player in both Ranked and Normals!
1. Check your minimap as much as you possibly can.
It might sound basic but people really don't use it as much as they should. Checking your minimap will help you know exactly what is going on in the game at pretty much all times and can potentially save your life when the enemy jungler comes knocking. The most effective way of keeping tabs on the map is to glance at it every time you go to CS a minion as you should really be going for a CS every couple of seconds (and a couple of seconds is enough time for something major to happen.) You don't need to stare at the map but just try and look for these key things:
2. Make sure you're placing pink wards.
Again, this might sound basic but I've experienced this in my own games where players don't buy a single pink ward at all. Ideally you should have one placed at all times as this really opens up the map and allows you permanent vision in the river or jungle. Take my advice here as this will really help not just you but your entire team as you'll be able to keep track of the enemy jungler more effectively.

3. Look for where there are no visible enemies.
This is incredibly helpful. If you don't see anyone on the map where they should be, then that's your call to be playing more passive. The reason behind this is that if you don't know where anybody is, then is it really a good idea to start a fight or push the full lane? This is probably the most important in the mid game, however it's still a good idea to keep this in mind in the early and late game. This can also be a key sign that the enemy team are doing a Drake or taking Baron which will help your team be able to contest.
4. F keys.
If you don't know what F keys are then they're literally just F1, F2, F3, and so on. Pressing and holding these allows you to switch your camera view to be locked onto a team member, which is really useful as it allows you to see what's going on in their lane at the push of a button. You can see how big the minion waves are, the enemies HP level, etc. A good way to make use of these is to only hold them down for a second or two and just check what's going on. Don't keep the camera on them for too long as you have your own lane to worry about. A good use for the F keys is to check lanes as you're on your way back to your own as you can decide if you should roam and gank that lane before you return to your own. The best use of this is for the Mid laner as they can go to both top or bottom. As a Jungler you should be using F keys more than anybody else, use them while farming a camp to check where you'd be best ganking next.
5. Change your HUD scale.
This is probably the easiest thing to do out of all of these tips as you only need to do it once. Head into your Interface settings and you'll notice a couple of sliders.
HUD, Chat and Minimap Scale.
Turn your Minimap scale to 100 and adjust your HUD and Chat to your liking however, having a lower value for each will benefit you more as they will obstruct less of your view allowing you a little more vision.
