The closed beta of VALORANT went live today and with it came the reveal of a new agent called Raze! This did not come as a full surprise, as dataminers already leaked previews of Raze two days ago. Before today's launch there were exactly nine agents revealed: Sage, Brimstone, Sova, Jett, Phoenix, Viper, Omen, Cypher and lastly Breach. However, when players logged on today they were greeted by a tenth agent, Raze.

Before the closed beta launch, famous dataminers FireMonkey and ValoranTory discovered Raze's abilities and character description, which reads:

"Raze loves explosives. With her blunt-force-trauma playstyle, she excels at flushing entrenched enemies and clearing tight spaces with a generous dose of "boom"

We can see that she clearly loves explosives, carrying a huge rocket launcher on her shoulders and having various grenades strapped to her belt! Alongside her description, we can now also confirm that Raze is a Duelist.

The game describes duelists as "self-sufficient fraggers who their team expects, through abilities and skills, to get high frags and seek out engagement first". So if you're a high damage dealer who feels like going on a killing spree, Raze is probably a good agent for you!

Raze comes with the following agent abilities:

Blast Pack: Instantly throw a Blast Pack that will stick to the surfaces. Re-Use the ability after deployment to detonate, damaging and moving anything hit.

Paint Shells: Equip a cluster grenade. Fire to throw the grenade, which does damage and creates sub-munitions, each doing damage to anyone in their range.

Boom Bot: Equip a Boom Bot. Fire will deploy the bot, causing it to travel in a straight line on the ground, bouncing off walls. The Boom Bot will lock on to any enemies in its frontal cone and chase them, exploding for heavy damage if it reaches them.

Showstopper: Equip a rocket launcher. Fire shoots a rocket that does massive area damage on contact with anything.

With Raze as new addition to the VALORANT agent list, there are now ten agents in total. To get beta access for the game, connect your Riot Games account to your Twitch account, watch drop enabled streams and maybe you'll get picked for beta access! The game is aiming to go public this summer, so if you don't get lucky during the beta then you just have to wait a few more months!
