A recap of the new female roster's tournament run at the Intel Challenge Katowice 2017.
On the final day of February Team Dignitas announced a new and first time female roster for CS:GO. Three days later the newly acquired roster partook in the 30,000-dollar Intel Challenge Katowice 2017. The North American roster consisting of Carolyn 'artStar' Noquez, Catherine 'CAth' Leroux, Emmalee 'EMUHLEET' Garrido, Mounira 'GooseBreeder' Dobie, and Amanda 'rain' Smith was seeded into group A with Team Secret, Vexed, and EYESports.
Match one of the group stage was against Vexed who came into the game with a fighting spirit, winning 12-16 on Overpass. With a minor setback, the girls did not lose hope and ploughed through the remainder of the group stage beating the Russian team EYESports 16 to 8 and in a rematch, versus Vexed, showed what they were made of, winning 16-4.
Pre-Match warmup
With the group stage over, the team faced CLG Red in the Semi-Finals, a match for the crown of North America. In a 2-1 victory thriller, the girls lost the first map narrowly in overtime 17-19 but quickly rebounding and taking Cache and Cobblestone 16-8. The team paved their way to the finals going up against Europe’s best in the form of team Secret. Here, unfortunately, team Secret managed to snag a two zero victory despite the best efforts of the team.
Pre-match interview between Team Dignitas and CLG Red
An admirable 2nd place in the very first lan event for the team and quickly establishing themselves as being a dominant force on Cobblestone going 3/0 at the lan. The team is poised to become the worlds best CS:GO female team and are on their way of taking that position.
