KURTIS ‘BIGGY’ DAVIDSON RETURNS AS TEAM HEAD COACH
PHILADELPHIA – MARCH 15, 2018 — Team Dignitas, the renowned esports franchise of the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment portfolio, announced today that it has re-signed its SMITE team for 2018. The team retains its five high-profile European players, including Kenny “Arkkyl” Kuska from France, Jeppe “Trixtank” Gylling from Denmark, Anders “Qvofred” Korsbo also from Denmark, Joakim “Zyrhoes” Verngren from Sweden, and returning team captain, Harry “Variety" Cumming from the United Kingdom. The team returns to competition on Thursday, March 22 with a doubleheader against mousesports and Obey Alliance to start the SMITE Pro League Season 5.
The Team Dignitas SMITE Team finished the 2017 season with two first-place finishes and collected more than $90,000 in purses. Team Dignitas added multiple second-place finishes to its resume, including the 2017 EU SPL Fall Season, SMITE Masters 2017 and 2017 EU SPL Spring Season.
“It's a tremendous feeling to continue to compete under the Team Dignitas banner and the HBSE family for season 5,” Team Captain Variety said. “We've come back better and stronger, and now with a year of being together under our belt, we're ready to take it to the next step with the aim of becoming Season 5 World Champions.”
Head Coach Kurtis “Biggy” Davidson from Australia will remain at the helm of Team Dignitas and continue to bring years of experience as both a coach and player into his role. Davidson served as coach for the LG Dire Wolves at World Championships in 2017.
