Arkkyl talks about our SPL performance and recent changes in Smite
We spoke to Arkkyl about the SPL, his performance, and the newest gods!
The Summer Split was a tight race and a great split, at least in the EU, with all teams fighting for rankings at all times. Alongside the hectic and exciting split, some big changes happened to Smite, including some big and popular new gods. While Team Dignitas may not have made it to LAN, they were always one of the first and best teams to adapt to the new changes and gods.
We got in touch our star ADC Kenny "Arkkyl" Kuska about the split itself and his opinions on the new gods/changes in the game!
How do you feel about your performance this split with the Summer Split coming to a close?
Arkkyl: Overall I would say I performed well, even though I could have done better decision-making wise in some of the sets.
Overall as a team, what do you think your best set was?
Arkkyl: Against Team Rival in Week 4. Even though we lost by throwing during some small key moments, I still feel like we played very well outside of those moments.
What are some things you feel like you need to improve on as a player?
Arkkyl: Still, after a few years of playing Smite competitively, I need to improve my aggressiveness. Sometimes I can throw a lead by playing too far up with my lead.
What do you think were some of the main reasons you guys didn't qualify for LAN?
Arkkyl: I think just a loss of focus, short turnaround, and a bit of lack of motivation after the first split. We were definitely a lot more focused on the upcoming Worlds Split.
Which team is your pick for victory at LAN?
Arkkyl: I would say NRG. They have been playing really well this split, I'm excited to see them play on LAN.
Overall for this split/meta, what has been your favourite ADC?
Arkkyl: Ullr has been my favourite so far. I really like the burst damage he has, and I also believe you require some skill to play him at a high level.
Do you feel Chernobog is a worthy addition to the role?
Arkkyl: I think Chernobog will become a top tier ADC. He has an insane late game and works well with the crit builds.
Has Baron Samedi had a drastic impact on the game? Do you agree with the consensus that he's one of the best-designed gods in a while?
Arkkyl: I think he has a very fun kit but is still very overtuned numbers wise. We haven't played him in scrims yet, though, just because he wasn't available during the split, so it is hard to say what impact he will have right now.
Who do you think the top ADC in EU and in NA is right now and why?
Arkkyl: In EU, I would say myself. I believe you can't be the best if you don't believe you're the best. Otherwise, I would say Emilitoo is the best opponent I played against because he's so unpredictable. In NA, PandaCat and Barraccudda seem to be at the top, but it is hard to say which one because I don't get to play against them at all really.
