Getting the most out of your gaming with Wombo

What if your above-average gaming skill could be turned into something a little more sustainable?

We all like playing videogames, but not all of us can take it to the big leagues. Sure, some might be really great at Hearthstone but after a while, when being good doesn’t produce anything other than satisfaction after a victory, other priorities in life might take over. But what if your above-average skill could be turned into something a little more sustainable? Introducing Wombo, Team Dignitas’ newest sponsor!

One of the difficulties of being good at videogames (such a hard life) is that you may not be good enough to earn a living doing so. With Wombo you can play some of your favorite games, set your own buy-in and compete for a cash prize based on your own input. At the moment Wombo supports Hearthstone and CS:GO, but other games like Dota 2, Rocket League and League of Legends are headed you way soon.

Enter in guide.wombo.gg to get a preliminary explanation of how it all works. Envision that guide as the takeoff ramp to a sweet jump, but now you’re midair without guidance. That’s where I come in!

Your first step to taking advantage of Wombo is to create a new table in the main lobby. Once there:

  • Create the name of your table (or match)
  • Put in how many matches you want for a best-of series
  • Set the stakes
  • Add any extra rules or parameters for your match, like barring Paladin from a Hearthstone match

Now that your table has been created, hang out in the new lobby until another Wombo user shows interest and joins. To help expidite the process of starting a match with someone, upload your Battle.net or Steam ID on to Wombo so that both parties can find each other. When you’ve got another person to compete against, you’re back in control. Show them what you’ve got and try to win the prize pool based off of what you put down.

Of course, you'll need to add funds from either your bank account or PayPal, don't forget that you'll be putting your money where your mouse is!

At the end both parties mark down the results and send them in to be confirmed. Once both results are in, the winner is awarded the cash and your account is (hopefully) a little larger. If there’s a mistake or a false result turned in, you can report it to make sure that both parties get a fair say. After each match, I highly recommend taking a screenshot that indicates that you clearly won, or lost.

Give it a go! You never know, you might have a future in competitive gaming! Follow @Wombogg on Twitter and on Facebook for updates on new features and game support!
