Operation Phantom Sight releases with two brand new operators. Here's my take on how to play the attacking operator: Nokk
The release of Operation Phantom Sight comes with the reworked Kafe Dostoyevsky and, more importantly, new operators. This article will be focusing on how to effectively play the new attacking operator: Nokk. Her kit features some underperforming guns but is compensated with a unique ability that allows her to sneak around, avoiding detection from enemy cameras while providing quieter footsteps. Think of it as a combination of Vigil and Caveira's abilities and it’ll give you a rough idea on how to play her. This guide is designed to give all players a rough idea of how to use Nokk to her full potential.
Loadout
Nokk’s powerful ability is somewhat compensated via some weaker primary weapons when compared to other attacking operators. The weapons available to her are the FMG-9 submachine gun and the SIX12 SD shotgun. You’re probably aware that there were no new weapons released with either Nokk or Warden (the new defensive operator), but Nokk’s choices were initially exclusive to the defence roster. The SIX12 SD, while having niche use when used by Lesion, proved to be ineffective for me on Nokk. With a short range and mediocre damage, coupled with an inability to camp out as Lesion can, it isn’t worth picking over the FMG-9.
However, if you do prefer the added challenge, use a laser sight barrel and a sight of your choice. The FMG-9 is originally Smoke's submachine gun, and even he prefers to use his shotgun in most cases. The gun has a steady recoil pattern that is easier to control and a decent rate of fire at 800rpm. However, damage per shot is pretty low, as is typical with SMGs. Despite this, it’s still the preferred weapon of choice for Nokk players, allowing for kills at short to medium range. Even with Nokk’s stealth capability, I would advise not using the suppressor on the FMG-9, for the decrease in damage would be too great a drawback. Instead, try using the flash hider. The same could be said for not equipping the laser sight. Your sights choice can be flexible based on which one you prefer. I’ve been using the red dot sight and it feels most comfortable and doesn’t obstruct your view as much as a holo.
If going for the FMG-9, equip the flash hider and your optic of choice.
For sidearms, you can decide between the 5.7 USG and D-50. Now, I could talk about how reliable the USG is. Proven to be effective on the FBI operators, it is being arguably one of the best pistols in the game. However, I really like fun, and the Deagle is always a blast to use, especially since this one has a silencer. The Deagle's damage is superb and has decent recoil control once you get the hang of it, but I still wouldn’t want to equip a laser sight as you would normally because of Nokk’s "stay hidden" playstyle. The same goes for the USG, if you want a sidearm that is more reliable, equipping the silencer and no light sight.

Gadgets available are breaching charges and stun grenades, each with their own benefits. The breach charges allow for some creative distractions or rotation holes if needed, as well as easier access to the objective. You can blow open a wall, alerting enemies towards that direction, while you come in from the opposite side for some easy kills and use the new hole to made for easy rotations. The stun grenades are easy to use. Just throw them in a room where the enemies are and run in guns blazing. As Nokk feels more like a character that hunts enemy roamers, I think the stun grenades suit her playstyle more than breaches.
Her unique gadget is the HEL Presence Reduction, enabling it silences her footsteps and makes her virtually undetectable on enemy cameras. Like I said earlier, think of her as a combination of Caveira and Vigil’s powers and it’ll help shape the way in which you play Nokk. Unlike Cav however, Nokk is able to use her primary weapon while sneaking, even if she isn’t as fast as the two defensive operators.
Playstyle
Nokk is designed with one thing in mind: killing enemy roamers. Her ability to contest an objective is weakened by her low-quality weapons and her stealth mechanics promote a roaming playstyle. So how do you hunt them down and stop them from being trouble for the rest of your team? I’ll be trying to teach you how with the assumed loadout that I have already recommended, so if you wanted to use the shotgun available to her or breach charges, your methods will vary, but her core objectives remains the same.
I promise I played Nokk and Warden every game.
At the start of the round, it’s a good idea to immediately use the HEL gadget, to hide your choice of operator and destroy an outside camera to stop other members of your team from being detected, diminishing any advantage the enemy team would have from knowing who you are. The charge time of the HEL is short enough that it’ll recharge before you’re able to reach the inside areas of the map.
Once inside, it’s time to creep around the objective. Any information you can get your hands on provides the most valuable resource to you. Teammates calling out enemy positions or you using drones to spot people are necessary for Nokk to be successful. You want to go in, stealth, pick up a kill and get away safely to do it all over again. Knowing your map rotations is key here, so you can get around quickly without being seen.
So, let’s say you were successful. All the roaming enemies are dead and you’re left with the anchors on site. What do you do? Here is where Nokk performs at her weakest, the advantage given to attackers via their better weapons is gone and her ability has much less impact. Aim to get picks where you can, but don’t get discouraged if you lose a firefight. You’ve already done your job. Stun grenades will be very useful here as they allow you to disorient your foes and hopefully get you the final kills to win the round.

Synergies
Like all attacking operators, Finka is a fantastic choice to compliment any operator on the attacking side. A global buff that grants temporary health, decreased ADS time, and easier recoil management will help to level out Nokk’s weaker weapons.
Jackal’s ability to track enemies works a lot better when the enemy teams are heavily rotating the map and Nokk thrives from that kind of information. Not only that, but given Jackal’s most recent buff, the pings are much more frequent which allows for easier tracking for not only Jackal but the rest of your team.
Lastly, you want to distance yourself from the louder operators on your teams to divert enemy attention away from you. This’ll make it easier for you to sneak up on your opponents and get some easy kills before changing positions.
