T-Side Attacking Strategies For de_dust2

In this article I will go over some ways to counter the CT holds on the map de_dust2 as T.

Hi this is Eros again with a guide on de_dust2. In this article I will go over some T strats to counter the CT setups I showed in the previous article. I will not go into much detail on these strats, just give you an idea of what you could do, you should tailor these to your team and players.

Default round

This is you should do on most rounds on de_dust2 or in the start of the rounds, it's a great way to gain map control or get a pick. By playing a default you should get an idea of how the CT setups are, then you can start countering them.

You have 2 people going to tunnels, 1 staying back in upper tunnel holding for B push, 1 going lower tunnel holding short, and 1 goes down to mid either through suicide or go safe and holds for catwalk push. Then he gets on catwalk and flashes around the corner and kills whatever there are of CTs there. The AWPer stays in T spawn and either peeks through the doors or he just watches incase someone push lower tunnel. Then he can go and peek through mid doors, to help the guy get on short. Meanwhile 1 guy just stays outside long doors, and should not go inside in the start of the round in case of a nade stack.

Countering a 3-2

Figuring out if they play 3-2 is simple, on an eco-round you can rush long and see how many people there are at long, and see how fast backup gets there, you could also count how many people cross over to B. Then you could decide to do a counter strategy.

Against the 3-2 setup you should do a B split, by first doing a default to gain short control to avoid getting fast flanked, then have 2 people in upper tunnel, and 3 in mid, behind the doors, 1 smoke CT and flash out the guys in mid. Then the people in tunnel wait for the people in mid to make contact with the people in B before they push out with the bomb. This will be very effective with the right coordination, and teamwork, since you will be 5 people sandwiching 2 people.

Countering a 2-1-2

Figuring out if they play 2-1-2 is the same way you can figure out if they play 3-2, but rush B instead and see how many people show up. You can also try to feel them out during a default. Alternatively, just count how many people cross over.

The best way to counter a 2-1-2 would be to split A since there are only 2 people covering both A and short. Start off by doing a default and gain short control. Then have 2 guys on short and 2 outside long. If you know they tend to have the long player in pit, you can make a wall of smokes by the long corner to isolate the pit player from his teammate. Then you can easily gain long control, but if they don’t usually play in pit you should rush long and short at the same time, with a teammate lurking in top mid or lower tunnel. If your lurker is in top mid he can flash out the long guys. The guys on short should do an smoke at CT spawn to delay the rotation from ct-mid.

The reason they shouldn’t rush out long then get people out short, because the will have 2 people long in the start then rotate 1 player back to A to hold short, if they stop the long rush the guy from mid will most likely either push out mid or rotate to A to help hold short/long.

Countering a short stack

You will not know when they stack short since the will only pull it out once or twice a map. But if for some reason know when they will pull it out you should counter it by rush out long because they will only have 1 person holding long, and if they boost up short he will be very late to short. When you have control of long, you can let 1 guy stay in long while the rest of the team rotate to B or something along those lines. They might pull out a short stack after an tactical timeout or an eco if they have lost a lot of rounds because their lack of mid control.
