The Best B Site Mirage Execute in CSGO

Take advantage of peeker's advantage by learning one of the best ways to execute B Site Mirage.

When a player starts playing Counter-Strike, executing B site on Mirage is defined as running out dry with no utility. As you rank-up and get better, the definition of executing a site evolves and becomes more and more complicated. However, if you five stack often with your friends, you may find your team executes aren't working out against countering the AWPer in market window or the enemy sitting GeT_RiGhT spraying you down every time you try running out of apps. To help you counter them, here is a very strong split execute that FaZe has repeatedly used and even executed variations in their most recent tournament: the regular season for Blast Premier Spring.

Before We Begin

Required Utility:

  • 4 Smokes
  • 2 Molotovs
  • As many Flashbangs as you can buy

How to use this execute: Before you can even think of using this execute in-game, you need to figure out a few basic details. First, how many CTs are playing B? Is one playing forward Catwalk? Where are they playing on-site? All these details are very important to note before you call this execute. For example, if a CT is playing forward Catwalk, you need to make sure that your Connector smoke and Molotov combo are perfect and you throw them quickly so you have time to refocus back on Catwalk if a CT normally pushes. Once you have determined that you have enough knowledge of how your opponent is playing, this execute is fair game.

When to use: I would highly recommend that you use this when you have the weapon advantage. At the bare minimum, two of your players need to have rifles as they will be taking long-range fights from Catwalk which SMGs will not be able to win. Also, this execute is significantly riskier if the CT-side plays a member forward Catwalk, as they might be able to take out any number of the three guys in middle.

How to counter specific spots or positions where CTs play:

1. A CT playing forward Catwalk. To effectively counter this, you need to make sure that as you are in middle, your AWPer is sitting bench watching catwalk or some other player is watching for that CT pushing. Be sure to clear all the close angles and trade effectively as you are executing onto site.

2. A CT playing Bench. The easiest way to counter any CT sitting Bench is to simply throw a smoke that lands between Van and site effectively blocking the vision of any CT on the outer right side of site.

3. A CT that constantly sits Market. The best way is to simply smoke off either Market window or door to block vision. Normally, if there is a CT market, it's the CT AWPer so, by smoking the AWPer off, you isolate the player on site leaving him with no backup which will lead to him getting overwhelmed.

4. A CT that likes to jump into Underpass early in the round. To render this player useless, you can smoke or throw Molotovs to keep him where he is. However, if he is there, he will be able to hear you running up Catwalk which ruins the element of surprise. My recommendation would be to learn some grenade lineups for certain spots in Underpass to be able to kill him as there isn't much space he can run around.

5. A CT that likes pushing up Middle or Connector. First of all, if a player pushes up Middle or through Connector, they are relying on their teammates that are either Catwalk or Window. By smoking off Window and quickly getting into Middle, you should be able to isolate that player which leads to the site defenses being weaker.

While there are additional spots that CTs can play, use the same thinking I did to come up with a way to take out that player. Remember, the best way to take down a CT is to isolate him and overwhelm him.

Important things to remember: Practice this execute before you try it out in-game, as you need to get your player's timings down based on how quickly the three guys in middle get set up. You need to make sure that whoever throws the top mid smoke throws it quick enough so that player two can throw the Molotov smoke combo into Connector to ensure no one peeks. Also, the top mid smoke is a hard one, so make sure you practice it beforehand.


The Default

Overview: Three mid, top mid smoke, moly + smoke combo Connector, fast Catwalk push, split B site entry with a site smoke to cover your Catwalk players from Bench.

Player One: Immediately go mid, waiting for the top mid smoke to land. As soon as player two throws the Molotov in his smoke and Molotov combo, rush Catwalk as quickly as possible. If the CT Connector player smokes the Molotov, be aware that there is a high chance there will be a hole in the smoke so you can be seen crossing Catwalk. If all goes correctly, push from Catwalk into site, checking angles if the opponent normally plays deep Catwalk, and assist the entry fragger coming out from Apartments.

Player Two: You are going straight into middle with player one. Beware that it takes five seconds for the Window smoke to land, so count to make sure you don't get taken down by an AWPer there. Next, throw a Molotov and smoke combo into Connector as quickly as possible and head up Catwalk with player one. Be sure you are a few seconds behind them so, if needed, you can trade effectively.

Player Three: The preferred weapon is the AWP, but you can substitute for a rifle. At the start of the round, throw the top mid smoke. After, use a high flash to flash your player one and two into mid. Make sure your teammates know it typically takes 5 seconds for the window smoke to land. Optional flash for Connector if you sense that there is a player there or conserve the flash for later. Lurk mid and be aware that the bomb is planted for you.

Player Four: You are going with player five into the Apartments. Smoke out the middle of site to make it easier for your teammates to push up Catwalk. If you time this perfectly, your teammate might be able to peek site from Catwalk and get an easy frag onto an unsuspecting CT. Throw a Molotov Van to prevent any players from hiding there and get onto site as quickly as you can. If you get blocked by a Molotov, don't worry about running through, just let your teammates take site. Plant the bomb for Catwalk because of player three still lurking there. If one of your players wants to go Apartments for the post-plant, there is a very cool wall bang lineup that you can Google to make it even harder for the CT side.

Player Five: You are going Apartments with player four. If there has been an AWPer B, I would recommend throwing your smoke Market window. Wait until around 1:35-1:40 to entry, or whenever your teammates have Catwalk control. Flash as you see fit depending on your past executes on the same site against your opponent and where they like to play. If you didn't smoke Market window earlier, smoke market to cut off quick rotations and play the post-plant as you see fit. If you played this correctly, your opponents won't even think of contesting for the retake. The smoke Market can be changed based on where the CTs are playing. See the section above about how to counter specific CT actions.

If you want to change some things about this execute to be able to use it multiple times in a game without your opponent knowing, feel free to do the following or whatever else you can think of.

Variants:

One potential variant is to smoke out Window and then boost your lurk window, or have him jump in with the new bench, and stay there to cut off rotations through CT. Keep in mind you have to make noise to do the new jump into window with the bench. While this may give the CTs more time to figure out what you are doing, having a player in this position could win you the map.

But, what's the fun of just reading a variant? Try using this strategy in practice and try new things and make new variants. Be sure to let me know if you think of any great ideas! Overall, this is one of my favorite strategies because of the pacing. Most of my other executes are slow and based on finding holes in the CT defense, but this is just fast and explosive to quickly secure a site and win the round which makes this execute perfect to have in your back pocket. The first time I watched FaZe run this execute, the enemy didn't even think about going for the retake so let's see if you can have that same success.
