Rocket League’s Workshop community has been able to produce some of the most creative and challenging maps, giving players endless ways to improve their mechanics and have fun outside of ranked play. Today we look at five of the best and most underrated custom maps that push players to refine their car control, recovery, and shooting skills.
Lethamyr’s Giant Rings
Lethamyr’s Giant Rings custom map is one of the simplest yet most popular Workshop creations, boasting over 580,000 subscribers. The creator of the map, Treyven “Lethamyr” Robitaille is a popular Rocket League content creator and custom map maker for SpaceStation Gaming with 1.43 million YouTube subscribers. Giant Rings redefines how players approach aerial car control, featuring 20 levels of floating rings suspended across a beautiful rocky landscape that allows you to truly test your aerial skills.
The map's relaxing yet challenging layout emphasizes long and fluid flights through the aerial obstacle course. Success depends on precise car control, air rolls, and boost management to navigate tight turns through the rings. While Lethamyr gives the player unlimited boost during the run, the real challenge lies in not overdoing it, light feathering and timing are what matters the most.
The open design gives the players creative freedom to explore and better understand their car’s movement. Each level builds a player's confidence and control, helping everyone master aerial mechanics that are essential in ranking up. Giant Rings are just another example (and perhaps his best example) of why Lethamyr continues to impress the community with his creativity and dedication to help others improve.

Aim Training by Coco
With over 380,000 subscribers, Aim Training by CoCo is the go-to map for accurate shooting. The concept is very simple: the ball bounces at the player who then fires it into the green targets that appear in the net. The goal is to increase your accuracy and be able to target specific slots in the net that your opponent can’t reach. The map offers three difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, and Survival. Easy will offer a giant green rectangle that you need to hit and is recommended for those just beginning their precision shooting journey. Normal mode shrinks the target down to a square and is more advanced while survival gives you only three missed shots before the game ends. There are also three normal mod options including random target sizes, random ball drops, and random wall distances.
What makes it incredibly valuable is how it isolates one of the most important skills: shooting precision. Think back, how many times have you just shot on goal with really no attempt to place the ball? Those shots end up going straight to the defender or just miss the goal entirely. With the Aim Training custom map, you’ll be repeating shot after shot from different angles, learning exactly how the ball will fly off your car and how to hit specific spots in the net that defenders won’t get to. It’s almost like Aim Labs for Rocket League and is probably the most important addition you can make to your warmup routine.

Dribbling Challenge #2 by French Fries
French Fries created a fantastic first map to the Dribbling Challenge series but his second map with over 650,000 subscribers really scratched the ground dribble training itch. The map features 30 levels ranging from beginner dribbling mechanics all the way to more complex obstacles that blend air and ground dribbling. Each stage requires full ball control perfect for learning and mastering the mechanics.
To beat the challenge, players are required to balance the ball on their car through tight paths while also executing accurate flicks, all skills needed if you want to win your 1 on 1s in ranked play. The goal is to complete each section without letting the ball touch the ground, testing control and consistency. For players who want to improve their ground control this map is highly recommended. It’s challenging and rewarding for the entire community who use it.

Jackal’s Training Ground
The least subscribed map on the list, Jackal’s Training Ground, only boasts around 10,000 subscribers, but offers a diverse set of training modes that makes it worth checking out. The training ground combines a lot of familiar concepts including shooting training, flying rings, and a brand-new game mode called the cage.
The shooting training section closely resembles Coco’s Aim Trainer. A target appears in the goal and it’s your job to hit it with precision. There are three main difficulty modes:
- Easy: Any shot on goal earns a point.
- Normal: You must strike the target to score.
- Hard: The target shrinks into a tiny circle where pinpoint accuracy is required.
The flying rings are like Lethamyr’s version, yet admittedly not as polished. The rings weave around the entire arena giving you a solid car control warmup before moving on to other parts of the training ground. The map doesn’t reset you if you fall but it still serves as a decent way to get more comfortable in the air.
Finally, there’s a new game mode called the Cage. This mode tests your fast aerial ability and recovery mechanics under the pressure of a closing wall. The goal is to survive in the cage as long as possible without getting demolished by the wall. An opening will appear in the wall as you maneuver your car through each one while simultaneously preparing for the next. It’s a fantastic way to sharpen your recovery time.
Jackal’s Training Ground offers an impressive amount of depth. Despite its small player base compared to the rest of the list, it’s a fun warmup option that deserves more attention. You can subscribe to the map here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2930150291.
Eversax $2000 Olympics 2
The final custom map on the list is the Eversax $2000 Olympics #2, a Rocket League challenge with over 50,000 subscribers. The Olympics boasts a lot of fun events that help fine tune your mechanics while you hunt for the perfect score and that 1000€ prize that comes with it.
The Olympics is broken up into 8 events:
- Flick: Similar to the javelin toss, this event gives you a dribble wind up before flicking the ball as far as possible. You get three chances, and a flick is 1000+ meters you get a perfect 10/10 score.
- Pinch: Similar to the flick event, you have ten chances to pinch the ball off the wall. A pinch of 1,500+ meters secure a perfect 10/10.
- Dribble: This challenge mirrors the popular Dribbling Challenge by French Fries. You have 2 minutes and 45 seconds to complete ten dribble levels—both ground and air. Each meter traveled earns points up to 8.5, and finishing all levels in under two minutes grants a perfect 10.
- Shooting: This event includes 25 shots on shrinking targets, like Jackal’s Training Grounds. Hit all 25 targets to achieve a perfect score.
- Parkour: One of the more unique events, Parkour launches you at supersonic speed through a challenging obstacle course. There are ten levels, and each one completed (by touching the ball at the end before the timer goes green) awards a point.
- Air Dribble: Like the Parkour event, this challenge gives you 3 minutes to complete ten aerial dribble levels. Every meter earns points and finishing with 45 seconds or more remaining earns a perfect score.
- Defense: The Defense event is self-explanatory, 25 shots on goal and you have to save them all. A clean sheet earns you a perfect score.
- THE CUBE: The final test of recovery and control. You’ll face incoming obstacles inside a cube arena and must survive as long as possible across five attempts.
