The Jacks of All Trades: Champions Fit For All Roles
Add these versatile champions into your pool, and surprise your opponents!
Add these versatile champions into your pool, and surprise your opponents!
The "Flavour of the Month" (FOTM) champions are constantly changing and it can be hard to keep track of them. In the blink of an eye, Urgot now has a higher win rate than Ezreal, one of the safest ADC's in the game. With the meta always changing and the professional scene always influencing solo queue, it can be a struggle to keep your champion pool secure. People always assume you have a certain set of champions for each role, but allow me to offer the idea of adding these champions to your pool for all roles.

Nidalee
Nidalee has recently seen a lot of professional play in the jungle, due to the changes in the patch where she could "hunt" jungle monsters. She adds a lot of early pressure with traps, big hitting spears and being able to duel the majority of junglers in their own jungle. Despite this rise of popularity in the jungle, this does not mean she does not settle well in other areas of the map.
For clarity, I'll name the areas where I suggest Nidalee can be played. Apart from Jungle, Nidalee can work in Mid, or Top.
After Nidalee's rework, where she was changed from the spear nuke queen, she was often played top lane but built with AD. A top laner who is often seen playing Nidalee is Oleksii "RF Legendary" Kuziuta. He is very much known for his Nidalee so if you want to know more about in depth top lane Nidalee, click his IGN to go to his Twitch.
Post-rework Nidalee has never really seen popularity in the mid lane similar to pre-rework, due to her spears being a shadow of their former power, however she is still a safe pick with quick clears under the tower, and safe poking and good heals for team fights.

Morgana
Morgana's popularity in Season 4 in the support role earned her a Victorious skin, which is enough proof of how useful she can be for a team. Her black shields are second to none in the bottom lane, and her 3 second (at max rank) stun is enough to ensure victory in any 2v2 brawl.
Unlike Nidalee, I do not recommend Morgana is played in the jungle. However, Morgana can be played in Top, Mid or her well known role of Support.
Morgana's bread and butter in the solo lanes is her safety and her quick pushing. Putting a minimum of 3 points into her W before maxing her Q allows her to quick clear waves, putting a lot of pressure onto your enemy laner, and keeping you safe from trading. If you're getting ganked, just stick your black shield and it'll deny most crowd control abilities, given that they don't destroy the shield with magic damage.
Morgana is great against magic damage opponents, with her shield being use to block chains on Leblanc or charms on Ahri. Not only that, with her ability to shove waves quickly, it can make it hard for an enemy APC to last hit under the tower with burning some mana. Morgana is super safe and she is one of my favourite picks in all lanes, I highly recommend her.

Lulu
This top tier supportive champion has been hit and miss in the professional scene, with her reputation for being easy to gank spreading across the world. Despite that, her abilities work so efficiently that people constantly pick her, whether it be mid, top or support. She can shield and speed your ADC up, or polymorph an enemy Katarina into a cute little cupcake! With a huge HP boost ult, with an Area of Effect knockup on the target, she makes for an insane team fighter.
Lulu is a champion I'd recommend in any lane, whether it be Mid, Top or Support.
Despite her reputation for being easy to gank, she works very well in solo queue. The enemy team doesn't have the co-ordination that a professional team has, so you should be able to get away with your Glitterlance's slow, and your ult, post 6. She also works well for split pushing and destroying towers, as her Pix scales with AP, plus Lich Bane is a great item on Lulu.
Conclude
With some champions being more versatile than it seems, it is definitely worth learning them. Rather than learning 3 different champions for each lane, why not learn Lulu or Morgana and save yourself the hassle! It'll play mind games with your opponents in champion select when they see a Morgana pick and assume it's support, but then surprise them by going mid or top lane. Being versatile with your champions can lead to a good mindset where you are a better team player and are able to be versatile on the rift too.
