Marvel Rivals is a team game, so how you build your team has a huge impact on the outcome of a match. However, team comps can be confusing for beginners. So, here is some great team comps to try in Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals feels extremely easy and casual right until you step into Ranked. The ranked lobbies in Marvel Rivals are super competitive. Here, you can’t just pick any character and play with him. You will need to communicate with your team to create a team composition that works.
However, if you are just starting, the team comp part can get a bit confusing. Understanding the meta, which heroes work but don’t, can all get a bit too overwhelming. So, here are some blueprint team comps you can use in your matches. There are both hero-specific team comps and role-specific team comps here for you to try. Of course, you can change them depending on your team and what strategies you have in mind.
Before getting into the nitty-gritty of hero combinations and the overall meta, let’s first get through the basic structure of your team comp. Marvel Rivals features 6v6 modes, which means you have to divide the three roles (Strategist, Vanguard, Duelist) into six slots. In simple terms, the overall structure of your team is based on roles.
This is the most common team comp you will see. And, understandably so, it’s the safest and most reliable team comp you can play. This is what you should be aiming for in solo queue, as there isn’t a lot of coordination or communication there.
If you pick your heroes right, the 2-2-2 is hard to mess up. So, in terms of heroes, you will be looking at two tanks, two DPS, and two healers.
For tanks, you need an anchor tank, someone who can hold the frontlines and can stay active on the objective. Next, you will have to pair the anchor tank with a dive tank. Someone who can be aggressive when need be and keep the pressure on. For the anchor, Doctor Strange, Groot, and Magneto are solid choices. You can pair them up with Thor, Hulk, or Venom.
For DPS, you can pretty much go for anything. It depends on the map and the objective. Lastly, for healers, go with a main burst healer and a secondary support.
While you want to go for the previous team comps in matches, you will be seeing this team comp the most. The reason being, nobody wants to play tank, and more often than not, one guy will end up filling for the team.
Not to say this is a bad team comp, but against a good team, you can struggle a bit. However, this team comp still works quite well if you choose your heroes right. The team comp mostly rotates around the one single tank.
Because there are two healers and only one tank, that tank becomes very hard to kill. This is the major strong point of this comp. And, if you have a good tank, they will know how to utilize this extra healing and stay on the objective.

Now, we are moving towards situational team compositions, meaning team comps you can switch to during the match to counter the enemy team.
The 3-2-1 team comp works well when the opposite team has a lot of damage output, and it’s hard for your team to stand its ground. The three healers can easily keep the tanks up, while the solo DPS can try to go for the enemy team’s healers. This is just one way to play this team comp, you can try different strategies, too.
Keep in mind that this isn’t a main comp but more of a tactical trump card that you can use to throw off the enemies.
The 3-3 comp is also a strategic card that you can use when you want to go full-on defense. This usually works well in Domination or Convergence, as you have to hold points there.
The three tanks can form an almost unbreakable defense line and can stay active for a long time, thanks to the healer. However, the lack of a DPS means that you won’t be able to go for frags much or target the enemy team's healer. It also becomes hard to protect your healers without a DPS.
When it comes to hero-specific comps, there is a lot of room for creativity. You can mix and match different hero combinations to see what works. The team-up abilities can also be taken into account while making your team comps. The great thing about Marvel Rivals is that there is no meta team comp that everyone has to use.
With that said, here are some fun team comps you can try.
Dr Strange is an S-tier tank right now, and with Hulk, he can get a damage boost, making him even more powerful. Plus, the combination of both of these tanks works quite well, as Dr Strange can hold down the fort while Hulk can show some aggression. It’s like a shield and spear combo that really works. Iron Man also gets a huge damage buff from Hulk, and on certain maps, he can be really strong.
As for the healers and the other DPS, you can pretty much go with anything. The main key of this comp is the Gamma Overdrive team-up ability that makes both Dr Strange and Iron Man quite strong.
Imagine killing the entire enemy team, and they come back instantly. Well, that’s what this team comp is.
Adam Warlock gives Cocoon Revival to Mantis and Starlord, meaning they can come back if they die (once, then the ability goes on cooldown). On the other hand, both Thor and Loki can be revived if Hela lands an assist or kill.
So, in theory, if the entire team dies, they can come back once, which can be a game-changer. It’s a fun and cheesy strat to use. Even if you don’t go for the entire team comp, just picking Mantis and Warlock as your healers can be strong, too.
If you want a comp that is a bridge between 2-2-2 and 2-3-1, then you can try this one. Here, Mr. Fantastic acts as a pseudo-tank. We already know how hard it is to kill Mr. Fantastic, and with Sue giving him some extra shields, he can stay on the battlefield for longer. He can swap between playing tank and DPS, giving you the flexibility to switch between two comps.
On the other hand, Rocket Racoon, Winter Soldier, and Punisher have a neat team-up ability that gives the latter two infinite ammo. This will allow you to deal massive amounts of damage when you need to.
If you want to build a team around aggression, then you can try this comp. All heroes on this comp are focused on diving in and causing havoc. Thor and Venom both have solid mobility and can charge right into the enemy's frontline. Then you have Spider-Man and Winter Soldier to clean up after the tanks.
As for the healers, both Luna Snow and Mantis can heal pretty well, and both of them have stun abilities, which can help out the team even more. Lastly, if things get too dire, both their ults can be used to save the team.
The great thing about Marvel Rivals is that there is no S-tier comp. Sure, there are S-tier characters, but the comp you make mostly depends on what strategy you have in mind. These are just some of the creative team comps you can use, but there is so much more room for creativity. So, try using these comps and tweak them to your liking.
